Story

Members of Heywood & Middleton Labour party are running the Heaton Park 10k on 22nd March to raise funds for two amazing community projects which provide vital services to our area and deserve all the support we can give.

The Lighthouse Project in Middleton - a community hub aiming to inspire people, places and organisations to make Middleton a better place to live, work and visit - hosting a foodbank, debt advice, the Lighthouse Pantry (a membership-based grocery), help with job-search, language classes, and social activities throughout the week.

And Recovery Republic in Heywood - a wellbeing centre who's overall aim is to promote the well-being and health of the community, hosting many events and support groups. We have a range of ages and athletic abilities doing the run; some won't usually even run to catch the bus, some have completed charity runs in the past but we have all decided to do this with only 4 weeks to prepare!

We will give it our all and any donation you can spare will be massively appreciated and received with warm thanks. We will send photos and videos of the day to you in return for your generosity if you would like to laugh with us at our efforts :D

Thank you so much!
