We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

I started volunteering for Hearing Dogs 5 years ago as a training from home volunteer and was lucky enough to get offered a job in our volunteering department where I’ve been ever since!  Over the last five years we have seen the most amazing puppies and dogs coming through our home – Tinker, Yorkie, Teal, Oreo and our current house guest Gatsby (with me in the photo), not to mention lots of puppies in between who have stayed on a short term basis.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to different sounds & signals, such as the fire alarm. Not only do hearing dogs change deaf people’s lives by providing emotional and practical support, and a new sense of confidence, but they've also saved lives.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People receives no government funding so they rely solely on their volunteers and supporters.  That’s why I am walking 25km on the Isle of Wight Challenge to help raise money for this amazing charity.

Thank you for your support & sponsorship!
