Story
During the month of May, St Helen’s girls, their families, staff and alumnae are aiming to achieve a total distance of 238,855 miles by running, walking and cycling to the moon and back. Any donations gladly received will also be converted into miles. For donations between £1-£5, a mile will be added per pound donated. If an amount of £6-£10 is donated, then 2 miles per pound will be added to our total distance. Similarly, if you donate £11-£50, 5 miles per pound will be calculated, and with a donation of more than £50, 10 miles per pound donated will be submitted. This means that the more you donate, the more miles you will add to the school total. Last year, food banks organised by the Trussell Trust provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us. With your help #ThisCanChange. Let’s get to the moon, and possibly back again.
