Story

I'm not just saying that - I really do hate running. Every step has been pretty grotesque.

It all started last summer, when I saw a YouTube short (it's like a TikTok but for 35 yr olds), from some lunatic ex Navy Seal called David Goggins. Whilst being gratuitously topless and gratuitously on a run whilst filming - he screamed 'TO CALLUS YOUR MIND, DO SOMETHING THAT SUCKS EVERY DAY. STAY HARDDDD.'.

I decided that I wanted to stay hard, and callus my mind. So here I am, 1000 miserable KMs later. And whilst I do loathe the running, I have to admit - building a runner from scratch has been quite satisfying. Especially when you consider that genetically, I seem to have been designed for accountancy.

The progress has been significant. Last summer I couldn't run 500m without knee and ego pain, but last weekend I ran the Hyde Park Half Marathon in 1:33 and came 3rd in my (old) age category. That's genuinely not shit, as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway enough about me - sponsoring the extremely crap Sunday in April is going to help teenagers with cancer, so please get your wallets out.

Ok thanks! I've linked this page with my Strava so you can see how I get on with the rest of my training, and at what KM I pass out on the day etc. Xx
