Story
Many thanks to all those who sponsored me back in 2020, when I completed the virtual London Marathon with a friend. Now my place for the real thing has come up please do dig deep and sponsor me again so we can make sure Muscular Dystrophy doesn't miss out from any fundraising due to events being postponed for Covid.
A reminder of why I'm running for this great cause: a few years ago we lost one of the most cheerful members of our team, Asjad. Asjad had Muscular Dystrophy but never complained and was an inspiration to us all with his positive attitude and strong work ethic. His wife Farehi supported him at every stage.
For those of you unfamiliar with Muscular Dystrophy, it is a rare muscle wasting illness with no current cure. Asjad never let this hold him back and during his time with us made a fantastic contribution to the team. Although Asjad was told at a young age he’d never have a family, with Farehi they beat the odds to have two young children - Asjad was so proud of them.
Muscular Dystrophy UK was the charity chosen by his family for our support. They provide vital information and support for the 70,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions. They help people live as independently as possible and ensure everyone has the specialist NHS care and support they need – the right help at the right time, wherever they live.
