Story

Hello!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported me during the 2010 London marathon. Despite heavy rain at the start, the sun soon came out and I managed to race round in 4 hours 22 minutes and a mighty 5 seconds. I was very chuffed just to get round, and my time was good enough to beat the likes of Richard Branson and Ricky Whittle, and I ran with Iwan Thomas for a while before he produced a typical sprint finsh to pip me by around 3 minutes. Despite the serious aches and pains, especially after 20miles where "the wall" almost proved impossible to run through, I can honestly say that I absolutely loved the experience. There were literally hundreds of thousands of people cramming the streets, and the shouts of encouragement and support that I was given from friends and family helped to drive me on. It is a day that will live long in the memory for me and I have already signed up for next year - heres hoping! (dont tell Marie)

Once again thank you to all the donations to the Stroke Association, at last count I had raised over £750 which will go someway to making a difference hopefully.

Cheers,

Andy

Ps - the picture above was taken just after I had finished the race. I look like a drowned rat because of the heavy rain at the start of the race and not because I was cream crackered.
