Story
It has been my goal for many years to run the London Marathon. I have had 3 rejections in the public ballot and much to my surprise I got in for April 2011. Having done the Edinburgh Marathon twice, I know how much hard work it is. It has always been my goal to run this fantastic event and like many other races that I have done before, I will be running for Cancer Research. I dedicate this race to my wife Julie, for fighting through and beating cancer so she can see me cross the finish line and to my two sons Chris and James who are in the growing number of children who grow up experiencing cancer treatment of a parent whilst being under 16. My final dedication is to celebrate the life of Frank Gratton, the man with the big smile. The pain I will feel on this run will be nothing compared to what he went through in his dying days.
