Event: School Run (Walk/Cycle) Challenge, from 14 February 2022 to 24 April 2022
Kenya Thriving is celebrating its10th year with a campaign to raise funds enabling ten children of Otacho Childrens Home to attend Secondary School for four years. Education is one of the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Story

This year’s challenge (to celebrate 10 years of Kenya Thriving’s support of the Children’s Home) is to raise £25,000 which will allow 10 children to attend Secondary School for four years (as Secondary Education is not a right in Kenya)

The impact of education for each child will gift them the opportunity and inspiration to thrive.

We will be doing this by collectively cycling/walking and running (as part of a 10-strong team), the 10,248 kms from Bristol (charity HQ) to the Otacho Children’s Home.

This will be a 10 week challenge starting on 14th February and finishing in time for the new school year in Kenya at the end of April.

We work alongside a Kenyan organisation who care for 51 orphans. Whilst each child is traumatised by loss and poverty our love and support today can change their tomorrow. We support every aspect of care including creating a home environment in which a child can thrive.
