Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Great South Run (10 miles!!) in October to raise money and awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF) which is a charity that's very close to my heart after my Grandad recently died after contracting the disease earlier in the year.
Each year approximately 7,700 people in the UK are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It is the fifth most common cause of cancer death and has the lowest survival rate of all cancers. While real progress has been made in treating many other types of cancer, survival rates for pancreatic cancer have barely changed. Yet despite the high death rate, pancreatic cancer attracts little research funding in comparison with many other cancers.
Basically I'd like to raise money and awareness for the charity so I am running the Great South Run in October and want to rasie as much money as possible to help the PCRF and their research into such a horrible disease.
