Story
I've done a number of long runs in the last few years, I've also done plenty of silly off the wall runs. I am often asked if I'm doing some of this craziness for charity. Till now sadly no.
But... as I hit the big 50 on 31 Dec 2022, I decided that I would like to do something for charity.
After thinking long and hard, I ended up deciding on a challenge which I am calling '52 in 52'
I will also be running the 2024 London Marathon for MS Society as part of the same fundraising effort.
52 in 52 Challenge Details:
- During 2023 I will do 52 runs that are at least of marathon distance
- Some will be official events
- Many will be my own creations. I have a long list of ideas, some of which are a little on the daft side.
- Some will be longer than marathon distance. Some much longer. Regardless of the distance, each run will only count as 1 marathon run
- It might not be one marathon every week. Some weeks I may do 2 marathons, some weeks none... etc. but over the course of the whole year, the plan is there will be 52 runs of at least marathon distance.

The MS Society is a charity close to my heart. I lost a friend to MS (taken far too early) and a close relative suffers from MS. My target is a deliberate stretch goal because I want to really push this and raise as much as I can for this great cause.
