We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

I am again running the Great North Run - this time with a target time of under 1hr50mins.

Guide Dogs are important for me because my own labrador is the laziest most untrained dog in the world ever, so it is essential people see what dogs can do to change people's lives for the better. A well trained guide dog is more than just a pair of eyes, they also help beat the loneliness that comes with having troubles seeing.

I have seen the work my parents do in looking after and socializing guide dog puppies in preparation for their working lives. If I can help fund other puppies to give someone a guide dog it will make up for the times my own badly behaved hound has let me down.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
