Story

Hiya, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A little story....

A few months back we were very excited when the ballot for the Ride London 100 closed and the results came out. Cut to our flat a few days later and two identical packages arrived, one for Carys and one for me.

Carys opens hers.... congratulations you have secured a place.... lots of excited screeching and texts to me encouraging me to hurry home and open my (presumably similarly) envelope. I duly arrive home, hoping for the best and, yes, you guessed it...... commiserations, try again next time sunshine or words to that effect.

I must admit to being a little disappointed, however in hindsight this presented a great opportunity to go for a charity place for an organisation that I regularly support and have a lot of respect for given they have been there for members of my extended family: The Stroke Association.

Over the last few years, I have done a half marathon plus a range of bike rides and so I was really pleased that they sorted me a charity place again.

Carys has also kindly agreed to chip in with encouraging you to support us so if your reading this and don't know me, you clearly know Carys! (Hello by the way!) and if you don't know either of us, I can only hope you are a mysterious benefactor who does philanthropic good deeds and random sponsoring of worthy causes?

We start this epic journey on 2 August 2015 when we line up with a whole load of serious cyclists in Stratford before following the Olympic route through London and Surrey before finishing on the Mall. To make life interesting I will be doing this on my faithful mountain bike and Carys on a hybrid (providing she sorts this out sharpish!). We haven't set a completion time but as this is a closed road event we would hope for around 7 hours....

So, if you are feeling minded to show your support for The Stroke Association your are cordially invited to bung us a little bit of sponsorship money. We would really appreciate it!

Thanks for reading

Much love

Andy & Carys
