Story
Hi all!
On the 14 September, I am one of 56,000 people taking the challenge of completing the world’s biggest half marathon, the Great North Run. It is a real privilege to be taking place in this event and I am going it to raise money and awareness for Guide Dogs. Guide Dogs are a fantastic cause and provide an essential method of mobility to blind or partially sighted people. I am aiming to raise £300 for Guide Dogs and am putting in £50 of my own money to help things along.
The Great North Run is a monumental challenge for me, as a teenager I was heavily overweight and the thought of running one mile was unthinkable, let alone running thirteen. Three years ago I completed the Leicester Half Marathon, finishing way behind Scooby Doo, narrowing beating a pensioner but leaving Fred Flintstone trailing far behind. This experience has given me the enthusiasm and belief that I can complete this one.
If you could consider a donation that would be fantastic, it would make a world of difference.
Thanks
Andy
