Event: Trek26 Yorkshire Three Peaks 2019, on 29 June 2019
Participants: Simon Walker in York
Yorkshire Three Peaks is the classic UK trekking challenge. Conquer these summits in one day surrounded by people who are trekking for loved ones, and raise money so together we can find a cure. We also have a One Peak route too.

Story

Nearly 40 years ago, my grandfather displayed dementia after his retirement as a miner and general labourer. He had a hard life with a retirement that he didn't get chance to enjoy. As a child, it was tough to watch your hero in mental decline. Worse still, there was actually a stigma around the condition at that time.

Happily, that hasn't happened again in my family, but the facts tell us that it will touch most of us.

So, we must all do what we can. If that means walking up a few hills, then that's a small price to pay to support Alzheimer's society.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
