London to Brighton Cycle Challenge · 11 September 2016 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In the Spring of 2014 my dad was experiencing some increasing issues with fingers and fine movements and also starting to find speaking a little difficult. During the course of 2014, dad had many tests and eventually, in January 2015 he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

During 2015, dad's MND progressed rapidly and on November 7th 2015 his struggle ended.

During dad's illness, the MNDA were able to provide equipment and lots of advice, behind the scenes they work to advise and were behind the design of dad's wheelchair. I was especially impressed with the work books they provided my children and information on how to teach children about the prognosis.

With thanks to the MNDA and in memory of a loving dad and grandad I'll be cycling from London to Brighton.
