Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Alzheimer's affects many families, sadly including ours. As a family we have previously raised over £1500 for the Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in the 10k Memory Walk in York. This year I thought I would up my personal challenge!
On Saturday 19th July 2014 I will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to help support the Alzheimer’s Society and in memory of Nana Dottie.
Our amazing Nana Dottie suffered with this horrible illness for a number of years, she was cared for by my auntie, family & carers until 2011 when she declined and needed 24hour care.
Nana Dottie went to live at Amelia House Nursing Home where she was cared for well and had some really happy times. When a person with dementia finds that their mental abilities are declining, they often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support...... Nana Dottie got the very best love, support and care anyone could wish for.....
Sadly Nana Dottie fell asleep on 4th September 2012 surrounded by family.
It's is devastating to see someone you love decline at such speed and nothing can prepare you for the day you have to say goodbye.
I have pledged to raise £250 for the Alzheimer’s Society, any donation can make a difference please support if you can.
Thank you for reading.. Wish me luck!!
