Story
Open Hands is a great Leicester Charity that helps some of the poorest people in the City and County. Finally after years of searching they've just found a new home on the St Matthew's Estate from which they can serve people providing food, clothing, furniture and much more.
I really want to try and help them so in May I'm looking to raise money by running a 5k everyday, that's 155km or 96.3 miles! Aggh. So on the last day I'm planning to do 12km to bring it up to 100miles!
In my mind it sounded pretty easy but I tried seven days in a row a few weeks ago and discovered that for a 55 year body it's not that easy! Undeterred I've decided to go for it. There's a possibility I may conk out half way and if I do then I'll make up the miles but lets have a go!
I'm hoping to be running with friends during the month and if you've like to come with me get in touch. I'm not fast and only too happy to go slower so don't be shy. I'll put up some pictures and video as I go along.
Please help me if you can to help "to show compassion, support and care to those in need, to invest hope in and through people and to empower individuals to work towards a better future."
