Story
Thanks for visiting my page for the Great North Run 2010, where I'm
running to support the St Thomas' Lupus Trust.
Lupus
is a connective tissue disease, where the immune system attacks
the
body. Symptoms can be so diverse, including for example; fatigue,
rashes,
allergies, depression and kidney failure. Some 50,000 are now thought
to have
lupus in the UK - it's systemic, in that it can affect any part of the
body.
The St. Thomas' Lupus Trust is the charity
that funds vital and
pioneering research into lupus. It also supports the only dedicated
lupus Clinic in Europe - the Louise Coote Lupus Unit at St. Thomas'
Hospital in London. http://www.lupus.org.uk/
Please do help me raise some cash for this great charity, so that they can continue to support patients and fund more research to better understand and treat the disease.
