Story
Ladies & Gents, Boys & Girls -
Come one come All!
Come and witness the human masochist! Not content with running the Great North Run, on 5th Oct, for the fourth time - This year I am also entering the New York marathon, less than a month later on 2nd November.
This year I have chosen to run in aid of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, and I aim to raise a minimum of £1000 for completing both events - no mean feat, especially since the marathon is only 66 days away and the half marathon considerably closer.
£1000 is not a great deal of money judged against the cost of vet's bills, feeding and training a guide dog, but I guarantee that without your help I will never manage to reach it.
All the money you give will be going directly to the Guide Dogs, I have had to pay for my own flights, transport and accomodation for both Newcastle and New York.
Any money that you can afford to give me will be greatly appreciated by both myself and the Guide dogs, remember that I will be giving a lot too, time in training and my own money to get me there!
If you're willing to donate £5 I only need another 199 like you to reach my goal
If you give £10 I need only 99 people
If you give £20 or more then you'll get a free hug!
I have never tried to raise this much money before and I hope you can help! This page will be updated over the next couple of days. Please visit my my training blog, where I will keep you updated on all my training to date, some of the routes I will be doing around Chorlton and other stuff.
I don't think I've ever been so unfit trying so trying to get a 4 hour time in the marathon will be a major accomplishment in only 66 days!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks, whatever you give will help me on my way and help provide a companion for someone blind or partially sighted. Feel free to ask me about raising a guide dog, I helped raise a Guide Dog puppy in Canada - though this link will take you to their UK site.
