Story
Out of lock down and into the pool!
On September 10 to 12, I will be swimming again to raise money for Cancer Research and Hospice Care. Over those three days I have have committed to swim 15,000 metres in not quite Olympic time (ahem!).
Cancer Research is at the forefront of breakthroughs in our understanding of cancers, how to identify and treat them. Marie Curie provides much needed end of life care to those who ultimately succumb to this dreadful disease and support for carers and relatives. It is also a source of help and advice.
Why am I doing this?
I know of too many friends and close relatives who are suffering and have suffered from cancer and some who have died. Research can reduce the number who die and hospice care provides specialist end of life care, but it comes with a cost and is dependent on private donations.
Last time around, Swimathon raised over £1,000,000 and the aim is to better that amount this year, so I ask you to please give generously. JustGiving sends your donation straight to Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie & The Swimathon Foundation and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you for your support!
