Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On April 23rd next year I will be running the London Marathon in memory of Alexander Albiston and in support of the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
In 2011 Tim Albiston, one of my best friends from university, tragically lost his son Alexander at just 18 years old to bone cancer. Alexander was an outstanding young man, immensely popular, a brilliant student and excellent sportsman. You can read about him at www.alexalbiston.co.uk.
Tragically Alexander lost his fight against cancer but the way he handled the illness and the courage and dignity his family have shown in handling their loss has been an absolute inspiration to all who know them.
Alexander was really keen to raise funds for research into bone cancer, which while rare, predominantly affects teenagers and funding for research is absolutely vital to fight this. Since Alexanders death his family and friends have raised over £100,000 from lots of different activities and challenges and i am delighted to have an opportunity to add to this total and privileged to run in his memory.
