Story
I cant imagine anything more difficult to deal with than living in a world of darkness. Not being able to hear, or see, taken separately must be very tough to deal with, but taken together, the world is an altogether different place.
Living and working in the creative industry, I have a great appreciation of how much creativity derives and evolves from what we can see and hear around us. Deafblind adults and children will sadly never have access to this type of creativity. But all is not lost, the charity Sense was set up in 1955 and has been leading the way ever since to help support deafblind adults and children.
The money I raise will help support their services, which range from day services where deafblind people have the opportunity to learn new skills, to Sense-run houses in the community – where people are supported to live as independently as possible. Their communicator-guides offer a vital lifeline to deafblind people living in their own homes.
Thank you so much for your support!
