Hey Guys,
On the 7th July 2009 I'm off to Kumi Hospital, Uganda. I'm one of three military doctors who will be providing primary health care and immunisation to local people at the hospital. I will be accompanying a team of Royal Engineers who aim to build an attendants shelter at the hospital.
In rural Africa, family members (attendants) act as nursing staff and care, clean and cook for the patients. Previously they have had to camp in the hospital grounds; in the future the attendants shelter will provide accommodation.
Kumi hospital is an old leprosarium, which now, as a remote district general hospital, provides essential care to an area of Eastern Uganda.
Please support this worthwhile cause generously.
Thanks,
Andy
