Story

14.04.2009 ****UPDATE****

Please note that I have moved my fundraising page to: http://www.mycharitypage.com/IRCTrekNepal/  as no commission is taken from donations there.

Any donations made to this page will be sent to the Charity by the end of the week.

Thanks so much

So here's the deal: you've arrived here because you want to make a difference to people's lives. You want to make sure that when disaster strikes there are people available to help find survivors, support injured people and save lives. For that we thank you.

But just visiting isn't enough: you've got to put your money where your mouth is. As someone much more intelligent than me said: "You have to be the change you want to see in the world". All I'm asking you to do is give some money for this amazing cause, a charity that is not as well known as the larger ones, but makes such a huge impact on the world when it's needed the most. Please donate anything you can - even if it's just a £1. If everyone who visits this page gives just £1 together we should smash the target.

So, here's the plan of action:
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Depart London for Kathmandu
DAY 2: Arrive Kathmandu
DAY 3: Take spectacular flight to Pokhara. Start trek
DAY 4: Follow Seti Nadi river before steep climb to camp
DAY 5: Climb to 360 degree view of the Annapurna range
DAY 6: Trek through forest before descending to village of Parju
DAY 7: Steep descent to Lamakhet
DAY 8: Half days trek to edge of Pokhara valley
DAY 9: Fly back to Kathmandu, free time to explore
DAY 10: Fly home
DAY 11: Arrive London

The first goal is to reach £349 which is the amount needed to book on the trek with doitforcharity.com - if I don't reach that then it's game over before we've even begun.

The next challenge will be to reach £3000 which is the minimum sponsorship level - but you can see I'm confident that I can smash that. I know I've set a much higher target, but to make a realistic difference to the charity I need the target to be more realistic.

If you can't afford to sponsor me then please help in other ways: load a video onto YouTube with this website to help (I have no idea how to do this); are you great on websites? Design a website for me on a pro bono basis! Anything, literally anything done with the right heart will be greatly achieved. Any press / media coverage anyone can get for the cause will be great - the more people that know about this the better.

This is the most efficient way to sponsor me: International Rescue Corps gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
