My sister Jane (www.justgiving.com/janefishertrek) and I have just completed this amazing challenge successfully and are still trying to raise a minimum of £6000 (£3000 each) in memory of our dad, Reg Bonner, who sadly passed away last year.

The challenge of completing the Peru Inca Trail Trek was very important to us as our dad had a real fascination with the Incas and he would dearly have loved to have seen the lost city of Machu Picchu.

The gruelling 4 day trek took us up the Andes to the highest point of 4200 metres (13,800 feet) at Dead Womans Pass and we finished at Machu Picchu watching the sun rise early on the 4th day at the famous Machu Picchu sun gate.
