Story
- This effort is much more modest - a family fun walk around Eccup reservoir!
- St Jude's Furniture Store collects and delivers furniture to people in need across the city and works with other organisations to support the economically disadvantaged.
- Last year the Store delivered furniture to 1200 destitute families
- Provided Work experience and training to 100 individuals in the store.
- Provided work for 1500 people on Community Service Orders
- Collected furniture and electrical goods from 4200 families
- Serviced 10 community shops with donated goods which were sold at very affordable prices to help local people in deprived areas.
- St Vincents Support Centre provided both Debt and General counselling to over 1300 people
- Provided Literacy and Numeracy training to people who have English as their second language and who struggle with basic educational skills.
- Provided good quality meals to volunteers and economically disadvantaged people
- Created 150 new volunteering opportunities
- Provided a convenient local refuge for vulnerable people.
