Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in a four-day bike ride from London to Paris in mid-September. It is organised by the Alzheimer's Society to raise funds for their work: providing local care and support to sufferers of this disease and to their families. You can find out more about the disease and about this charity at www.alzheimers.org.uk.
I am asking you to give generously for three reasons:
1. I have decided to ride in aid of this charity because my uncle suffered with this debilitating and undignified illness in the final years of his life. I would be honoured if you would consider helping me to ride in his memory.
2. Dementia affects around 700,000 people in the UK alone, and touches many more families than this. The Alzheimer's Society provides resources to reduce the strain on family relationships as family members care for sick relatives.
3. I need to raise a minimum of £1300 to be allowed to take part. (If I don't reach the target, don't worry; your money still goes directly to the charity.)
So please dig deep and donate now. (And, if you're a UK taxpayer, remember to Gift Aid your donation.)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
