Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have named this year 'the year of mini madness' because as of the 2nd March I will be completing various events all the way through to October, when, hopefully, I will be still in one piece!
The events will be as follows -
* Sole Destroyer (mud run) 2nd March,
* Reading Half Marathon 17th March,
* Bayer 10k 26th May,
* X Runner Water Wipeout 29th June,
* Tough Mudder(assault course) 22nd September,
* Swindon Half Marathon 13th October.
These have all been signed up for - so there is no backing out and dont worry, I won't!!!
The reason I'm putting myself through all this, is so I can raise money and awareness for this great charity.
The money I will be raisng will be split between research and practical support funds for the genetic condition, Fanconi Anaemia, which my brother Stephen was diagnosed with at the age of just 4 years old, and unfortunately lost his fight in January 2013. This has given me extra incentive to succeed in all of these events and I feel it's a good way to remember him, as he was such a sporty and active person with endless amounts of energy.
I am hoping some of the money will go towards supporting families that are going through tough times, whether it's someone who has just found out about the condition or someone that is going through a bone marrow transplant or stressful time.
I hope with more awareness and fundraising we will understand more about this condition.
