Story

2019 is the year in which I turn 40. I thought what better way to challenge myself than do a crazy bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats over 9 days. It is certainly going to be a physical and mental challenge, especially as my starting point was never having ridden a road bike until I had signed up to the ride!

I am very lucky that I have not had to deal with the heart breaking Alzheimer's disease in close family or friends. But I know people who have and the devastation and frustration it can cause.  I am also  conscious of how common it can be and every bit of funding we can generate to help support those with the condition and the families coping with the disease the easier it can be.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
