Dales Way Charity Walk, 12 September 2021
We support Rob Burrow and his young family to deal with the impact of MND diagnosis

Story

Myself and my colleague Jim Horan are both bus drivers employed by Keighley Bus Company. We both have a passion for walking and we have decided to take on the task of completing the 80 mile Dales Way walk between Ilkley and Bowness-on-Windermere, commencing on Sunday 12th September 2021 in Ilkley, completing our walk on Friday 17th September in Bowness-on-Windermere.

We also see it as an opportunity to raise money for charity. Rob Burrow was an outstanding Rugby League player during his career representing Leeds Rhinos, England and Great Britain. After retiring he was tragically diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, which is a terminal, extremely debilitating illness. He bravely displays a positive attitude despite this situation, and he tries to stay as positive as possible for his wife and family. I think he's an example to us all.
