Story
As we are all aware, the impact of Covid and the increasing cost of living has impacted on all our lives. For smaller charities, such as The Bodie Hodges Foundation, this impact has had a significant effect on fundraising. This charity is solely funded by donations from the public and its business partners. I appreciate these are difficult times but please, if you can, help me to raise some much needed funds for this truly amazing charity.
The Old Chalk Way is a 575km bikepacking route along Britain's oldest highway, following a chalk spine from Lyme Regis in Dorset to Holme-next-the-Sea in Norfolk. The route is mostly off road and I’ll be riding my trusty mountain bike, fully laden with enough equipment to support myself on the 7 day trip. I start on Monday 8th August, hopefully finishing in Norfolk on Sunday 14th if all goes to plan.
The Bodie Hodges Foundation are launching a capital appeal to raise £450,000 by the end of 2023 to purchase a much needed Bereavement Centre for families bereaved of child in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The death of a child is the hardest thing a parent will ever face and the grief that follows is life changing and permanent. Sadly, there is very little support available to families and they are often left to try and deal with their grief alone. Since 2013, The Bodie Hodges Foundation has been changing the face of support for families bereaved a of a child in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland through their important work. We have chosen to support the work of The Bodie Hodges Foundation as they aim to raise the money to buy a Bereavement Centre that will become the hub for a child bereavement community in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.
