Story
I took part in this event last year for the first time as I had seen first hand the plight of the guys living on the streets and saw how tough it is to survive in the freezing conditions and terrible weather the UK winter throws at us.
It made me sit up think that it could so easily be anyone of us that could be in that situation and sometimes the guys don't need a handout they need a hand up and that's what so many of the organisations are aiming to do.
Having visited the Emmaus facility at the Orchard in Hull I was blown away by the professional manner in which it was run and how passionate about the place the companions are. A true testimony to the team who work tirelessly day in day out to keep the place running and get people back into a civilised lifestyle.
It's true that there are so many causes that deserve support but all I ask is that you spare some small change to support a great cause.
There are 370,000 people in Hull, imagine what a difference that could make if we all have a pound, its not a lot to ask.
