Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The NSPCC was set up in 1884, and has worked tirelessly since, for the protection of chiildren. A charity that still receives an alarming number of calls, with regards to child protection. They still rely heavily on the public, with over 85% of their donations coming directly from the public. Without peoples donations, many more children are at risk, as the funding is simply not there to be able to help.

The FULL STOP Campaign began in 1999 as the NSPCC’s way of involving everyone in society with ending cruelty to children.

As well as ChildLine joining the NSPCC in 2006, their achievements include:

Creating a pioneering online counselling service, which helped more than 1,000 young people to speak out for the first time about abuse they had suffered

Helping to protect thousands of children from abuse – since the creation of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) which the NSPCC campaigned

Working with more professional groups and local agencies to keep children safe. More than 5,000 professionals use our child protection site.

Gathering massive public support as part of the FULL STOP Campaign

Helping more than 750,000 children, young people and families through our local services

Increasing the amount of public support amongst adults -in 2009 more than 80 per cent of adults regularly told us that ending cruelty to children is one of their top causes – an increase of 65 per cent from the launch of FULL STOP in 1999.

Despite the tireless work of the charity, last year, their helpline alone received over 30,00 calls from adults worried about a child; over 11,000 of these calls led to police or social worker involvement in the protection of a child.

So you can see the incredible, and difficult work that the NSPCC do. So please dig deep, and help us in raising our target.
