Story
On Friday 13 December 2013, our son and daughter were both hit by a motor vehicle whilst on a pedestrian crossing in our village, Hathern Leicestershire.
Laura (17) and Daniel (8), were both seriously injured and Daniel suffered a skull fracture resulting in Neurosurgery. Laura suffered abrasions, muscle damage and trauma from the incident.
To have both of our children so seriously injured has been devastating and this story could of been so different. The QMC Nottingham Childrens Intensive care unit, Neuro Department, Ward E40 and Child Physiotherapy have been so amazing and Klara and I had total confidence as to the course of action and treatment the QMC took. Both Laura and Daniel continue to make steady progress but the next few months remains uncertain to the full extent of their injuries.
Our Family, Friends, Hathern School and Hathern community have also been so supportive and kind.
I hope this year to raise funds for Ward E40 at QMC Nottingham by completing 3 half marathons in three different countries. If I can raise a target of £100 per mile then this equates to over £3900 towards equipment for Ward E40.
The Half marathons i have entered are as follows and it would be so kind if you could donate.
- The Prague Half Marathon 5 April 2014
- The Ramathon Elvaston 8 June 2014
- The Great Scottish Run 5 Oct 2014
I will keep this page updated of my progress as there is now less than 60 days until my first Half in Prague on 5 April 2014.
