Post walk review
Well I got home just after 4.30am. Weather was really kind to us and the organisation of the event was really well done. Feet a bit achy and a couple of red patches but no blisters. Really should have worn some hiking socks rather than those stupidly thin office socks!!
Why Team Sheila are walking the walk
This year various parts of my family, both old and new, have chosen to come together as Team Sheila to raise money for the charity that happens to be closest to my heart.
St Wilfrid's Hospice is where my mother spent her last few days at the beginning of 1997 with a tragically short battle after her cancer diagnosis.
The hospice angels made her as comfortable as they could and nothing was too much trouble when caring for everyone in the family.
This hospice receives about 14% of their funding from the government, the other 86% is left to us in society as individuals and businesses. These donations ensure that our loved ones get the dignified end of life care in their homes or at the hospice if they are unfortunate enough to need it.
Please consider even a tiny donation even if this is not your local hospice. It is still likely that this is the local hospice to someone dear to you.
