Story
How mad is this? My first marathon, 3 days before my 60th birthday ! Inspired by so many others and just thought - why not me? I am Type 2 diabetic, my mum and grandad have also been affected. In the hope of raising as much money as possible for Diabetes UK, I aim to improve my fitness and condition in the process. I already know it's painful, my aching knees are testimony to that. I'm really looking forward to the day, which i know will be tough, but also being part of such an iconic event, which should be great fun!! Can't wait for the day, but in the meantime, back to training and plodding along the River Lea, Thames embankment etc
Welcome to my TCS London Marathon 2024 profile page for Diabetes UK. Did you know someone is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes? As many as 4.9 million people are living with diabetes in the UK right now. So, I'm running towards a healthier me, and a better future for people living with diabetes.
