Three weeks ago my fiancee Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer and had an operation on 5th May but still face's 8 months of treatment ahead. This came as a complete shock to us and turned our world upside down.
One of Jane's closest friends has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice and she has been an inspiration to Jane because she has made a full recovery.
Since Jane was diagnosed her attitude has truly been amazing and she will get through this with support and love of her family and friends.
As running is my hobby I have decided to run the Great Midlands 8.5 miles Fun Run at Sutton Park in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Only now are we realising the importance of this charity and the good work it continually does. Only last week the newspapers reported of a possible new breakthrough in treatment, work funded by not only the NHS but also by Breakthrough so please please dig deep to keep this organisation going.
