Story
In 2014, I lost my dear friend, Ed Walters, to the cruel disease that is MND. He was 41. He had battled the previous 5 years against this relentless condition with incredible bravery and courage.
To do my little bit in the fight against MND I have signed up to Doddie Aid. Doddie Weir was a stalwart rugby player for Scotland in the 90’s. I have been fortunate enough to meet Doddie on a few occasions pre his MND diagnosis. Doddie’s story has transcended the rugby world. To fearlessly face down his diagnosis and raise £6 million in 4 years for MND research and a further £1.25 million to support MND patients has been mind blowing.
Doddie Aid is going until Feb 12th and basically involves running, cycling, swimming as many miles as possible during this time. It is a way for me to do a little bit to help him and the Foundation in the quest to find better treatments for MND.
