Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running my first ever marathon in Manchester on the 3rd April 2022. My aim is to run a sub 3 hour 30 minute marathon.
I always knew I wanted raise money for this event and did not hesitate in choosing Cancer Research UK.
From a family perspective, I have seen my mum go through the diagnosis of breast cancer, treatment and receiving the all clear. The strength she showed during this time I admired and something I take into each training session.
I work at Salford Royal Hospital as a physiotherapist in neurosurgery. Within my job I treat people who have cancer in the brain and spine. The fight and spirit of these individuals I see in hospital is something I admire greatly, especially during the recent years of COVID with the reduction of visitors.
Statistics state 1 in 2 people in the UK will get cancer in their lifetime. The advancements made in medicine through research and donations allows for an improvement in cancer survival rate
Thank you for your kind donation! It will drive me on completing my first marathon and will help us beat cancer 💪🏻
