Story

DESTINATION SKYE - “Pow! Take that loneliness!!”

3 years ago Dave completed the 10K charity forest walk for Wag & Co.  I love what this charity do forging genuine friendships with people who live alone and in care homes.

This year’s event at Kielder in Northumberland had to be cancelled due to Covid19. So Wag & Co have asked that we hold our own event in our own way on 19th September.

Last October Dave’s bionic leg started to fall apart so 5K is now his limit and on 19th September we’ll be travelling to Skye. So here is what Dave and Kean came up with as a sponsored challenge.

Kean is almost 12 and has mobility issues so he will complete 10 laps of his garden agility course. (Photos to be posted on Facebook)

Dave has accepted the “5K - I Did It My Way” Challenge”!

We’ll be travelling to Skye with friends who can’t pass a public toilet and we’ll be on the road for 6 hours. So on 19th September Dave must post 5 photos on Facebook posing outside some (hopefully) picturesque public conveniences.

Then on the morning of 20th September while everyone else is still asleep Dave will complete a 5K walk on the Isle of Skye before breakfast.

If you’d like to help Dave and Kean fight the scourge of loneliness please sponsor the boys. Thank you.
