Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So here is my story for those who don’t know. My name is Scott Montague and I am 51 years of age. Sadly for me I suffered 2 Heart Attacks last year and after having an angiogram at the Golden Jubilee in Clydebank, I was diagnosed as having the West of Scotland’s most popular disease, closed arteries. For someone who does not drink or smoke it was very difficult to take on board. I had the operation on the 20th of August 2010 and it was found that I actually required quadruple surgery. My Father, six weeks later had the same operation but sadly he did not survive. I felt that I needed to do something for the British Heart Foundation purely due to my personal circumstances and also the event I have chosen is on Fathers day for 2011. The event is the London to Brighton 54 mile cycle ride on the 19th June 2011. I am doing the event with my brother Iain Montague and we have created a 10 person team calling ourselves the Pulborough Peddlers‘. Although we have been organizing this since Christmas we were unable to advertise the fact in case we were not successful when applying. The application date was the 12th of March and we have been successful. This is a massive event and this year it is expected to have somewhere around 30,000 cyclists and will take up to 6 hours to complete, so it is very much a fun day out rather than a race.
Thank you for having a look at my page, I will start creating training photo’s on the New Bike that I bought under the Cycle to work scheme, I also hope to have a video of the day made up when completed, just have to figure out how to attach the camera to my bike. All donations will go straight to the British Heart Foundation and will be very gratefully received on this active page.
To have a look at my brothers Pulbourgh Peddlers page, remove my name above (Andrew) and replace it with (Iain)
Regards to all, Scott Montague. Ineos Finnart.
My final comment would be that I had no idea that I had suffered not one but two and possibly three heart attacks, if anyone would like to speak to me about my experience I am willing to help in any way I can.
