Story
My brother was diagnosed with dementia over 10 years ago and is now in residential care. Five years ago my wife, Sheila started showing signs of dementia at the age of 61. Inevitably her condition has deteriorated since the initial diagnosis and she now relies on me plus a daily visit from a care worker to continue living independently at home. We have good days and bad days and any work that the Alzheimers Society can do to help people like ourselves is invaluable. Please note that as the North Pennines event has been regrettably cancelled I have now transferred to the Trek26 Lake District event on 25th June 2022.
