Story
As most of my close friends and family know its been a difficult time for me since 2015. Having to pull out of Ironman Barcelona due to illness was a bitter blow for me. Since 2015 I have had 2 major operations, (1 hip replacement and one stomach operation). During this time I found out that I have a heart condition that can limit my capacity to exercise intensely. I also lost my mum and dad and my Brother-in law who suddenly died of cancer.
I have battled with Depression and anxiety throughout my life with the past 4 years being particularly bad. The one thing other than my family and close friends that got me though the tough times was my love of sport, especially triathlon.
Recently I took part in Challenge Roth Ironman to put my demons to bed, I was over the moon to finish Ironman Roth.
I now want to give something back to the sport I have loved for over 20 years and support Tri for Life and just to say:
Thank you!.
Andy
Since it's inception the Woburn Abbey Triathlon has one simple aim, to raise as much money as possible for charity. And to date, tri for life has raised over £2 million and supported many different charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Teenage Cancer Trust and many many more. This unique event is a brilliant way to challenge yourself whilst raising money for charity and I'm definitely looking forward to taking part!So dig deep, any donation big or small will make those hours of training worth it!
