<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 15pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; outline-width: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">On July 5th 2011 I will be taking part in a <strong>'Coast to Coast' </strong>cycle ride covering <strong>180 miles </strong>across England, from Workington to Filey. The route, which we plan to complete in <strong>3 days</strong>, takes us over some very steep terrain - through the Lake District, across the Yorkshire Dales and finally across the Yorkshire Moors. I started training last month and am slowly getting used to being in the saddle for prolonged periods of time!</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 15pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; outline-width: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">I am using the challenge of the bike ride to try and raise some money for the <strong>Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research </strong>charity<strong>, </strong>to help accelarate the clinical trials required before new drugs can be given to patients suffering from this illness. My father suffered and eventually succumbed to this disease, so it is something I have experienced at close quarters. 30,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with a form of blood cancer each year, so you can understand the importance of getting clinical trials completed quickly.</span></p>
