Story
Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That’s ten every day. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. We fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and we work to protect young lives through essential welfare programmes.
With your help and motivation I intend to cycle 500 miles over 5 days on mixed terrain, Roads,Towpaths and Bridal ways.
In may 2008 I suffered serious Head injuries following a collision whilst out riding my bike. Since then I have been recovering in many ways but the love of cycling is still there so this is my way of getting back on the roads promoting safe cycling and why not give an helping hand to others who are suffering difficulties.
The idea of doing 500miles in five days is daunting to say the least I aim to ride it anyway making returning back to fitness my goal.
Over the winter months I have been building my fitness up doing regular gym sessions/ indoor reality spinning. Whilst also planning my chosen route, with support from my family I will be riding from Kidsgrove, Staffordshire out east to kings Lynn , before dropping to Gt Yarmouth then back west homeward bound. Please follow me on the venture watch me progress spur me on and help Children with Cancer UK to provide support to children and their families.
