Story

Hey butts,

Going to embark on a charity running challenge around the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday 27th October. Obviously will be going on the outside of the turnstiles in the car park, not on the hallowed Bale marked turf.

I plan to run from Dawn until Dusk. What timing is that at the minute? I guess 7am or so to 6pm or so. Basically if my first and last videos aren’t in some sort of darkness I have cheated. I will be continuouslyish running during this period. I’m not entirely sure how far I will go as I have to make sure I go slow and have never run for this long before.

I guess I’m hoping to go over 50 miles (maybe 52, so two marathons). That will entail over 100 laps of the stadium.

If you see me doing it don’t point out that the tread and pace I ll be going at is hardly running. If you do you are just a twmffat.

.

Why you ask? I aim to raise funds for Gol Cymru. This is the Wales Football Supporters foundation which does great work for children's charities at home and abroad. A key facet of away trips is the pregame pub get together and raffle that raises funds for a worthy children's cause in the city we have descended upon. We contact the charity introducing ourselves via email before the trip starts. Then usually the day after the game a few of us, very hungover but still smiling, descend upon said charity to introduce ourselves (for what that's worth). Sometimes offering them a cheque but usually having predetermined what they require and getting it for them. Previously we have provided clothes and sports equipment, brought them a fridge or even contributed to the building of a 5 a side pitch in the grounds of the children's home. We have done it all across Europe, from Andorra to Azerbaijan.

With the impending World cup and the torn conscience that comes with the entire event, it only felt right to do something positive.

The struggle comes with the lack of appropriate charities in Qatar, that aren't linked to the government. Not to be put off, a new plan was hatched. The money raised from this run will go towards; a European tour of children's charities. We will be revisiting charities we have been to before, checking how they are progressing and redonating. Should be quite a nice touch to show we still care. (All money is being donated to the charities to meet there needs and is not being used to oay for our travel, accomadation or food, i m using my savings and working online where I can as I go) (Some twmffat said i m not paying for your holiday)

Any money donated is much appreciated.

Diolch yn fawr iawn.

*Woop to CCS having KFC and Mcdonalds drive through in the car park complex, so I know where my fuel will be coming from.
