Hey Everybody

In what seems like a moment of madness now I have signed up to the Olympic distance London Triathlon.  The event will be taking place on 8^th August and consist of a 1500m swim, 40km bike ride followed by a lovely 10km run.  Crazy I know.

In the process I will be raising money for Bowel Cancer UK, which is one of the smaller national cancer charities that aims to raise awareness of bowel cancer and campaigns for the best treatment and care.  Survival rates of bowel cancer in the UK are amongst the lowest in Europe, with 15% more patients being diagnosed at a later stage of the disease compared with most other European countries. 

I have chosen this charity after the recent loss of my late Grandad as a tribute to the care and support he received whilst suffering from bowel cancer.
