Story
I'm running a half marathon in October 2023 in memory of my Mum, Janet King who tragically died in January this year with Cancer and Rapid Onset Dementia.
I have always been inspired by my Mum's strong values and determination, and I want to do her proud, plus raise money for Alzheimer's Society to give to a cause that will help other families who sadly will experience a similar tragic loss. I think Mum would approve!!!
My background: I have been a regular runner for over 20 years, but I am very much a solo runner happy in his own company and never venture much beyond 10k distances. So my FIRST EVER Half Marathon on the 15th of October, at the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough with 1000s of people (https://www.greateastern.run/) will be challenging for me on many levels!!!
I would love for my friends and family to support me in this challenge and raise a bit of money to combat Dementia in my Mum's name. I know times are difficult right now so any donation, no matter how much is gratefully received.
Much love, Andy x
