In 2015 I was admitted to Royal United Hospital Shrewsbury with massive internal bleeding for the second time.  I had previously been treated for a duodenal ulcer.  This time, after an emergency operation to stop the blood loss, i was told that I had a  Gastro Intestinal Stomal Tumour.  It was a huge shock to all, my family and the all the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff in the NHS were brilliant I underwent an operation called the Whipple Procedure.  This was quite frightening with. 10% death on the table rate! The operation was a success and during my recovery I was introduced to the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre ar Shrewsbury Royal United Hospital. The staff there are fantastic  and after I recovered I thought how best to give something back so I joined Lingen Davis cancer fund as a trustee and I’ve been fundraising for the Lingen Davis cancel fund eversince.
