Story

2026 Festival Pilgrims Way Walk  - Winchester to Canterbury July 2022.

139 Miles in 6 Days.

On 19th July 2022 W. Bros. Andrew and James Waddington will be undertaking the Pilgrims Way from Winchester Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral to raise money for the West Kent 2026 Festival.

The walk is 139 miles. We will be backpacking and camping at various locations on route.

To add more of an element of challenge to an already challenging walk we will be undertaking it in 6 days.

Our whole journey will be entirely on foot and will follow, as far as we are able,  the ancient route undertaken by those original Pilgrims. It will take us from Winchester Cathedral through  Alton, Guildford, Oxted, Westerham, Wrotham, Lenham, Charing and Chilham before reaching Canterbury Cathedral.

We do hope that you are able to support us in this challenge and raise money for the West Kent 2026 Festival.

All monies donated by Lodges, Chapters or individual Freemasons will count towards their own totals.

All monies donated by Non Masons will be gratefully received and put towards the total raised.

You will all be supporting the good works of the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF). The MCF as well as supporting Freemasons and their families  in time of need  also support many local  charities and good causes. Especially over that past two years where the usual revenue streams had dried up due to the Pandemic. Between April 2020 and April 2021 £111,291 was given by the MCF to 25 West Kent charities.

Your donation will make a huge difference to those in need in our local communities.

Best wishes,

W. Bro. Andrew Waddington APGM , W. Bro. James Waddington PPSGD.
